Digital marketers have been saying for the last 4 years, “go mobile” and a survey from the Pew Research Center is showing that it’s true. In 2016
77% of Americans owned a smartphone, up from 35% in 2011.
Smartphones are fast becoming a big part of our shopping experience. Whether searching for products, product reviews, what online store sells
the product or purchasing direct – Using a browser or on what is fast growing, mobile specific apps.
Google data shows that shopping-related searches on mobile increased 120% in 2015 and 2016, and 82% of shoppers consulted their phones before buying items in the store.
For this reason it makes sense that brands and marketers put their consorted effort into reaching customers on their smartphones.
This year the smartphone should blossom into consumer’s most used shopping tool.
